I had a great trip to Paucartambo and the Virgen de Carmen procesión. I got lots of good Photos. On the way back, my guide Joseph, insisted that I fill in a rating form and give it to him. I told him I wanted to mail it in. He said no. Giving the rating form for the guide to the guide does not result in an objective, confidencial rating, so my rating was too high. Everything at Paucartambo was obvious and self explanatory. I speak fluent Spanish and really didn’t need a guide. Joseph, my guide, ate bad meat, the first night and vomited and felt bad the next day. Vicente ,the asistente, who set up the tent and the portable bathroom was wonderful and indespendable. All in all, the trip was very good and the driver was excellent.

We did two private tours with the same company over successive days. We enjoyed learning about the local history and exploring Incan ruins on the first day and then had a lovely experience climbing the extraordinary Rainbow Mountain the second. It was a really enjoyable and informative introduction to Cusco/Peru and we would recommend both tours.

Did the 7 day Choquoqueirao trek with my son and we both count it as one of the best hikes we've ever done. Apus were extremely thorough and glad I chose them for their experience and in offering a less crowded and more authentic experience. Our guide Willy was knowledgeable, patient and constantly attentive to our capabilities. Food was healthy and nourishing. I also appreciated Apus' stance on sustainability & ethics.

"We had an absolutely fantastic trip! Everything was top-notch. A huge thank you to the entire team—the driver, the chefs, the animal handlers, and our guide who was truly exceptional. And of course, a special shout-out to the office team for always being there to assist with anything we needed. Highly recommende

We did the 7D/6N Best of Cusco tour and it lived up to our expectations in every way. Firstly, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. I remember how Herbert encouraged us during the tougher stretches of hikes. He organised our time well so that we did not miss out on things, sometimes adding on little extras into the itinerary. He also showed care beyond his call, for example swapping his seat with us so that we could get better views. Lots of little things that he did that made our trip enjoyable and safe. Apus Peru also did its part, well before the trip, by responding promptly to email enquiries with great advice. Shout out to Lorena. During the trip, the company continued to keep track of our well-being via a WhatsApp group. We were there when Cusco celebrated Corpus Christi, which caused closure of key attractions, and the company offered options to change our itinerary, always with our input and preference. Such close communication with customers is highly valued. I must commend on the excellent choice of hotels. We stayed at 3 Tierra Viva hotels (Urubamba, Machu Picchu, San Blas) and despite changing hotels every 2 days, we did not feel displaced. We kind of knew what to expect as the hotel chain maintained a certain standard of doing things and the facilities were more or less duplicated. We loved the free coca tea and hot water dispenser at the lobby of each hotel. We also loved the similar buffet breakfast and had our favourite items every morning. The onsite restaurant deserved a mention too, serving a great variety of dishes and many times, we just preferred to eat there instead of venturing out. One thing the company might consider is whether San Blas was actually a good location in Cusco for travellers. The narrow streets prevented vehicles from accessing the hotel, making it difficult to transport luggage (although we had help from the porters) and guests had to walk some way to the vehicles. Not a big deal, but something to think about. Finally, we loved all the places that we visited in Cusco. There were many highlights of the trip. Besides the obvious one which was Machu Picchu, we loved Palccoyo for its breathtaking views, the interaction with community members during the Andean community lunch and the Ollantaytambo ruins which we felt were often overlooked. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Apus Peru as the tour operator of choice. The memories from this trip would last a lifetime.

The Ausangate trekking with Apus Peru The Ausangate trekking was breathtaking in every way! To hike at an altitude of around 5000m and camp in frigid temperature is not an easy feat but it was worth it. The majesty of the glacier was simply amazing. Also, I have never dreamed of seeing the Milky Way so clearly. Our group of four was assisted by Aggripino, Miguel and Juan, three hard working muleteers. Leandro, our cook, fed us great food fit for the trekking. Finally, our awesome guide Arturo was very attentive and knowledgeable. A unique experience.
