Get to know another side of Ausangate on our Rainbow Mountain 2 day trek! Our Rainbow Mountain 2 day trek is designed to get you out of sync with the crowds! We’ll climb high passes with stunning views of snow-capped mountains, incredible valleys and, of course, the namesake colored stripes of Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain.

Known locally as Vinicunca (cunca means “neck” in Quechua, the local indigenous language), this hidden gem in the Ausangate region goes by a lot of nicknames: Rainbow mountain, Painted mountain, Colored mountain, and even Stripy mountain – all of which speak to its radiant colored peaks.

Trekkers Wanted: I am a solo traveller who enjoys mountain trekking and finding less crowded ways to enjoy popular places. I would love to share Rainbow Mountain with others who also love the peace of sunset and sunrise and don't mind the physical challenge to accomplish this.
